A Change is coming

I’ve got some good news and some bad news related to Carbellion.

Let start with the bad news…
It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing that Stephen Richgruber is leaving Carbellion.
He did not easily come to his decision to leave Carbellion. He spent many years performing in a critical role as a powerhouse bass player at live shows, touring from Wisconsin to California. Additionally Steve ...was a key contributor to the songwriting process starting with the material on the original AMERICAN HEAVY ROCK demo released in 2005 through the HEADLINER EP released in July 2013. Ultimately he has decided to pursue new musical avenues. He will continue to play lead guitar in his other band, Last Call Trio, along with Carbellion’s Brandon Bauer on bass.
Steve has been a brother to all of us and will continue to be after his departure. Please join us in wishing him all the best. Steve will only be performing live three more times with Carbellion. Fortunately for all of us these are three great shows to ride out on that you don’t want to miss.
5/22- McAuliffe’s Pub in Racine, WI-Outshine’s US tour kick off show w/Carbellion & Imperial Fall.
5/23- Inferno Nightclub in Madison, WI- Outshine’s US tour w/Carbellion, Subatomic, & TBA
5/24- VibeZ in Sheboygan, WI- Carbellion, Outshine, Subatomic, & Imperial Fall. This is Carbellion’s first show back home in Sheboygan since July 2013. This is Steve’s final show with Carbellion as well.

Let’s finish with some good news…
At VibeZ on 5/24 Steve will be handing off the bass to Carbellion’s newest member Matthew Danbeck as they are splitting the live set that night. We’ve known Matt for several years through gigging with his past bands such as Mr. Deagun Jones and Enemy Star. He comes to us with a great deal of band experience going back to when he played bass in Milwaukee’s Big Dumb Dick through his current role in the Motley Crue tribute band, Motley Brue. Not only is Matt an amazing bass player but he is one of us as he understands what American Heavy Rock is all about; respect, work ethic, showmanship, morality, pride, and hard f’n rock music. He will be playing out the remainder of the Outshine US tour dates starting with the hand off at VibeZ and continuing on from there. Matt has already been learning and rehearsing songs going back to the Villain LP. Additionally he has started working with us in writing new material that we are looking to record this summer for a Fall release.
In summary, with bad news comes good news and we are excited to turn over the next page in Carbellion’s quest to bring American Heavy Rock to the people. This October Carbellion celebrates its 10 year anniversary and there are discussions around a special release on vinyl with some new material and some classics along with a big release show to celebrate it. We are finally almost set on a European tour in early 2015 as well. So crack open a bottle, turn up the volume, and hold on for dear life as we are ready to take it up a notch once again…
